Their primary mission is to create software solution to ease the whole patient billing, information and management process for the healthcare service providers and the patients alike. In an effort to expand their service offering, we are helping them set up a billing and collections support team. This team will ensure timely response and resolution to queries and concerns from the patients. This position will be the primary contact to assist external and internal clients with questions relating but not limited to dealers, insurances, and patient pay balances using available resources.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, chat, emails  and follow up with external/internal clients/patients in a timely fashion.
  • Place outbound calls to contact clients that have been paid directly by their insurance company (IPP) to obtain check and copies of EOB's.
  • Open and process internal and external mail
  • Maintain knowledge of financial hardship program guidelines, and AR allegiance.
  • Review a list of missing checks and or remits for various payors and use the resources available. Contact insurance as appropriate to obtain the missing information.
  • Review outstanding balances and determine what needs to be adjusted off per approved financial hardships.
  • Research and follow up on outstanding accounts that are 31+ day outstanding monthly.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous insurance/patient pay collections experience preferred.
  • Medicare and Medicaid experience a plus.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Bring innovative ideas to improve patients experience with providers communication including billing resolutions and payments
  • Setup, scale, manage & lead a team of Patient Service associates.
  • Devise and implement training programs, standard operating procedures and team performance objectives
  • Work closely with the leadership to improve overall deliverables
  • Manage monthly performance indicators including productivity, customer satisfaction, attrition, turn-around time, collection etc.
  • Be the site leader for the location and assist with employee engagement and development initiatives
  • Act as a mentor and advisor to associates who need guidance while dealing with dynamic patient situations.
  • Take complete ownership for delivery and success of the Patient servicing team

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of contact center management / customer service operations experience preferred
  • Previous healthcare, insurance/patient service and collections experience preferred.
  • Understanding of payor guidelines and CMS regulations a plus.
  • Have strong customer (patient) centric focus, customer empathy, passion for people interaction.
  • Constantly stay updated with healthcare / patient related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to innovate and bring better ideas in patient support and billing processes
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, start-up culture
  • Ability to collaborated at all levels and work in a flat informal structured workplace
